The advantages of recycled plastic
A quality street furniture manufacturer, PROCITY® is firmly committed to environmental protection. As part of this eco-friendly and environmental approach, the choice of raw materials for our urban equipment products is fundamental.
Thus, after steel, aluminum, and wood, our range of urban furniture expanded in 2021 with a new raw material: recycled plastic.
Recycled plastic street furniture offers a sustainable, practical, and aesthetic solution for urban public spaces, while also contributing to the reduction of plastic waste and the promotion of environmentally friendly practices.
USE OF RECYCLED MATERIALS
Recycled plastic street furniture is made from post-consumer or post-industrial recycled plastics, helping to reduce the amount of plastic waste sent to landfills and oceans. This promotes a circular economy by giving a second life to already-used materials.
DURABILITY AND STRENGTH
Recycled plastic is weather-resistant (rain, hail, frost, snow), rot-proof, splinter-free, and hydrophobic, meaning it dries quickly, making it an ideal choice for street furniture exposed to outdoor elements.
EASY MAINTENANCE
Recycled plastic is generally easy to clean and requires little maintenance. It can be cleaned with water and soap.
UV RESISTANCE
Some recycled plastics are treated to withstand ultraviolet (UV) rays, making them suitable for sunny outdoor environments without significant discoloration or degradation over time.
VANDALISM RESISTANCE
Recycled plastic street furniture is particularly robust. It withstands shocks well, even vandalism, and any graffiti can be easily removed.
Our recycled plastic boards – manufacturing, finishing, and warranty
-
What plastic is used?
The boards we use are made from high-quality recycled plastic, consisting of secondary plastics, primarily blends of polyolefins. This includes old plastic packaging collected from household and industrial waste collections that have been recycled. -
Warranty
Our recycled plastic boards come with a 5-year warranty (excluding discoloration and deformation).
The Silaos® line, eco-friendly manufacturing
The use of recycled plastic is a firmly ecological choice stemming from the eco-design process we adopted to develop, among other things, the eco-friendly street furniture line Silaos®. Indeed, to create this innovative range, our designers focused on two priority aspects right from the design phase:
-
The first aspect is resistance to weather and the elements to effectively meet the demands of intensive use of urban equipment in outdoor spaces.
-
The second aspect is the environmental performance of the manufactured urban equipment, to control their environmental impacts throughout the entire product life cycle.
